In just a little less than two weeks we'll be leaving Cranbrook and beginning the first stage of our adventure: a week in Vancouver visiting family and friends and doing some last minute shopping. Then we head offfor London on September 7.
This summer has whizzed by with visits to Saskatchewan to see Kim's family, camping with friends at Kettle River, visits with friends and family in Vancouver and Victoria, and an intensive training session in Ottawa (made possible by my family's generous offer to watch the kids for a week). In between, we've been packing, trashing, giving away, and packing some more. It's amazing how much junk you can accumulate in a house in 14 years. We've also been trying to find time to visit with friends here, who we won't be seeing for two whole years.
We've been so busy it's been hard to find time to think about the adventure that lies ahead of us, but at least I (Barb) am getting daily episodes of butterflies in the stomach. My big worry is how the kids will do. Will it be hard for them to make friends? Will school work for them? Will they find the living conditions too challenging? Hopefully, our spunky, adaptable children will be just fine after some initial settling in, but only time will tell.
That's all for now. As soon as my technological whiz of a husband has had a look at this blog, it will be magically transformed with some pictures.
